New Delhi, December 15, 2015: After a furore was created over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office being raided today, Rs 3 lakh in foreign currency and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash was found at the home of his Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar.
Another Rs 10.5 lakh was recovered from Rajendra’s close aide and co-accused in the case, GK Nanda, GM Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL).
There were complaints made to CBI that certain private companies were benefiting in all the posts where Kumar was deployed over the last 5 years.
After preliminary investigation, CBI found prima facie evidence against Kumar. CBI is conducting searches at 14 other locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh related to Rajender Kumar.
Sources said Rajender Kumar is not cooperating with the CBI officers in opening his email. The reported raid comes days after a top bureaucrat working for the Delhi government was arrested red-handed for taking bribe.
A senior IAS officer working for the Delhi government and his personal assistant were detained last Tuesday by the CBI for accepting a bribe of Rs 2.2 lakh from a manpower supplier.
