SC allows Reddy to visit Ballari for daughter’s wedding

New Delhi, Oct 1, 2016, DHNS: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed mining baron and former Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy to visit Ballari to attend his daughter’s wedding scheduled for November 16.
A bench of Justices A K Sikri and N V Ramana modified the conditions imposed on him on January 21 while granting bail. Senior advocate Dushyant Dave, appearing for Reddy, submitted that the conditions can be relaxed as his daughter’s wedding was to take place in Ballari and his family lived there.
He sought permission to remain in the district between October 1 and December 31. Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh, appearing for the CBI, submitted that it was correct that the wedding was to take place on November 16.
Taking the submissions into consideration, the bench allowed Reddy to visit Ballari from November 1 to 21 only. The court said the conditions imposed earlier would remain in operation from November 22, meaning he would have to leave Ballari before November 22.
