SSC exam: Mumbai results dip marginally, fifth in state with 88.8 pass percentage

Mumbai, June 18, 2014: The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) were declared on Tuesday.

student The overall pass percentage of the Mumbai division dipped marginally by 0.08 per cent from last year. However, the pass percentage of the state has seen an increase by five per cent over last year.

The overall pass percentage of the state this year was 88.32, with Mumbai securing the fifth position (88.84 per cent). The Konkan region with 95.57 per cent topped the nine divisions, and Latur division recorded the lowest with 81.86 per cent.

MSBSHSE chairman Gangadhar Mhamane said, “The state’s overall performance has improved compared to last year. Students can opt for the Class Improvement Scheme in October 2014 and March 2015. The best of five and Allowed To Keep Term (ATKT) schemes are also available for students to secure admission to FYJC this year.”

In all, 15,49,784 students appeared for the examination across the state, of which the pass percentage of girls was 90.55 (6,36,578) and for boys 86.47 (7,32,218). In Mumbai, 3,44,338 students appeared for the SSC exams, of which 3,05,912 students passed. A total 3.2 lakh students secured distinction and around 40,000 students across the state secured more than 90 per cent.
