Chhattisgarh, Feb 28, 2014: Seven policemen were killed in a Maoist ambush in Dantewada in Chhattisgarh on Friday. A 12-member police patrol had gone, on bikes, for the security of the Kuwakonda area where a road was being constructed, when they were attacked by Maoists.
In a 45-minute crossfire between the police and the Maoists, seven cops were killed on the spot and two were injured.
A police station in charge was among the personnel killed. Dantewada is among the areas worst hit by Maoist violence.
