Shivamogga: Man accuses school teacher of force-feeding eggs to vegetarian daughter

Shivamogga, Nov 24, 2023: A man has accused a school teacher from Shivamogga of force-feeding eggs to his vegetarian seven-year-old daughter.

The girl’s parents, who are Brahmins and eat vegetarian food at home, have filed a complaint with the Block Education Office (BEO) accusing the school teacher of force-feeding eggs to the child and pressuring her.

 

They have reportedly stated that the child fell sick after consuming the eggs.
Speaking on the matter, the Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Shivamogga said, “The teacher has denied these allegations. They were only trying to motivate the child to eat healthy.”

The girl’s father said the teacher pressured the child for a week to eat eggs. The teacher threatened to hit her if she complained about this matter to anyone, the parents said.

The girl’s father said, “There is an order from the government that children should be fed eggs, protein bars, and bananas. All parents should be called for a meeting on what food items can be offered for their children. My child told us that a teacher had been forcing her to eat eggs for the last one week.”

“She has been mentally pressured. The teacher threatened to hit her if she complained about this matter. She was told nothing would happen if people of her caste ate eggs,” he added.
