Speeding Car Rams 63-Year-Old Woman, Granddaughter In Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Nov 08 , 2016: In CCTV visuals from Ahmedabad, two women are knocked down by a speeding car, flung apart with the impact and left flat on the road. One of them gets up slowly and walks towards the other woman, who doesn’t move.

63-year-old Jaineth Thomas was killed and her teen granddaughter suffered multiple fractures in the accident on Saturday. The car and the driver have not been found yet.

Ms Thomas, say the police, had come from Mumbai to visit her daughter.

On Saturday afternoon, she had gone to a mall for shopping with granddaughter Prisha, 15. They were crossing a busy highway when a red Hyundai i20 hit them and sped off without even slowing down.

The video shows people rushing to help the women. Jaineth was declared dead in hospital while Prisha suffered multiple fractures.

The police are looking for the driver.
