Bengaluru, August 4, 2024: Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara announced on Saturday that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the death of a police sub-inspector in Yadgir. He stated that the SI did not die by suicide and left no suicide note, although his wife mentioned he was upset over a transfer issue. The investigation will explore all aspects, including any involvement of a ruling party MLA, and an FIR will be filed if necessary.
The Home Minister refrained from commenting on allegations against an MLA, stating that the investigation would reveal the truth. Meanwhile, the Opposition BJP criticized the State Government, claiming that corruption in the Congress government led to the death of an honest Dalit officer.
Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka accused the Congress government of causing the deaths of both Chandrashekaran, an official from the Valmiki ST Development Corporation, and PSI Parasuram, who allegedly died of a heart attack due to stress from a bribe demand for his transfer. Ashoka specifically blamed Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil and his son for Parasuram’s death, citing allegations from the officer’s wife and family.
