Student allegedly attempts suicide in Hyderabad University, dies in Hospital

Hyderabad, Sep 17, 2016:  A first-year student at Hyderabad Central University allegedly attempted suicide in his hostel room early this morning.

He was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment.

No suicide note has reportedly been found.

Praveen, who was reportedly from a backward class, was the resident of Mahbubnagar district and had taken admission in the university in July this year.

Police is investigating the case.

In January, the suicide of a Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula at Hyderabad University had led to massive protests, following which the university has been closed to outsiders including the media.
