Superstar Dileep offered Rs. 3 crore for Actress kidnapping, court told

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 27, 2017 : Actor Dileep, jailed in Kerala’s Kochi in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of an actress in February, had offered Rs. 3 crore to the kidnappers, the High Court was told today.

The prosecution told the court that Dileep offered main accused Pulsar Suni Rs. 1.50 crore for the kidnapping and double the amount if he was caught by the police.

The 49-year-old actor was arrested in July and charged with rape, criminal conspiracy and wrongful confinement. The actress, who had co-starred with Dileep, was forcefully restrained in her vehicle when she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi, driven around for two hours and sexually assaulted by at least four men who recorded the act on a mobile phone.

The High Court is hearing the bail plea of Dileep for the third time. He was denied bail twice by a lower court.

The prosecution today got permission from the court to record popular singer, TV and film artiste Rimi Tomy’s statement before a magistrate.
