After he was taken into custody, T Raja Singh was taken to Gandhi Hospital for medical examination. Thereafter, he was arrested and will be sent to Cherlapally Central prison.

The Telangana Police issued a notice to T Raja Singh over two previous cases registered against him in February and April this year. The notice was issued on August 24 and served today at 11 am.

In February, a complaint was filed against T Raja Singh for allegedly making objectionable statements in a video widely circulating on various media platforms.

The complaint alleged that the remarks were “utterly irresponsible and intimidating to the voters that have the undertone and propensity to undue influence the elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh and thereby violating the provisions incorporated in Indian Penal Code 1860 and Representation of the People Act 1951.”

In April, another complaint was filed against T Raja Singh for allegedly making a provocative speech during shobha yatra.

“During the shoba yatra procession, Raja Singh addressed the gathering and made statements which were provocative in nature with intent to create or promote feelings of enmity and hatred between the different religious communities,” the complainant alleged.

AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said, "The BJP is trying to destroy the secular fabric of our nation and see what has happened. T Raja, who was arrested for derogatory remarks against the Prophet, was granted bail within hours. What we demand is that such types of hate-mongers, why should he be allowed to roam free?”

“T Raja Singh is a habitual offender and should be sent to jail. He should not be granted bail,” Waris Pathan told India Today.

On Monday, the BJP MLA released a video criticising stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, who recently performed in the city. Singh is also purportedly seen making some comments, apparently against Islam, in it.

An FIR was lodged against Raja Singh under various sections of the IPC pertaining to promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs and criminal intimidation among others.

T Raja Singh, who was arrested after a case was lodged against him over alleged derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad, was released with a warning.
