Chennai, Feb 15, 2024: A 23-year-old woman has become the first Civil Court judge from the Malayali tribe in Tamil Nadu.
V Sripathy, hailing from Yelagiri Hills in Thirupathur district, cleared the Civil Judge exam conducted by TNPSC. Sripathy, born in Thuvinjikuppam bordering a reserved forest in Thiruvannamalai, is the eldest daughter of Kaliappan and Malliga.
Applauding Sripathy’s accomplishment, Chief Minister MK Stalin said, "I am pleased to see a tribal girl from an underprivileged hill village achieve this at such a young age."
Sripathy’s selection as a judge reflects our government’s commitment to prioritise job opportunities for Tamil-educated individuals. Congratulations to her mother and husband for their support."
Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also praised Sripathy’s determination.
The DMK Minister said, "We are delighted that Sister Sripathy has been chosen as a Jurisprudence Judge through our government’s ordinance. Her perseverance, even amid challenging circumstances like taking the exam just two days after childbirth, is commendable."
