Gurgaon, May 16, 2016: A senior executive at Encylopedia Britannica killed himself by jumping from the 19th floor of the apartment building where he lived in Gurgaon on Sunday.
Vineet Whig, the Chief Operating Officer for the renowned company, was 47. He had earlier worked with IT giant Wipro. According to the Times of India, Mr Whig’s father had a heart attack after hearing of his son’s death and is now in hospital.
Mr Whig is survived by his wife and three children.
A police officer at the DLF Phase 2 station in Gurgaon told news agency ANI that they received information about the incident at around 9 am on Sunday.
"We have found a note in his pocket in which he has given some personal reasons for the suicide. He was disturbed for a few days," Sudeep Singh said.
