New Delhi, May 11: US citizen of Indian origin Pradeep K Khosla, the dean of Carnegie Mellon University’s engineering college, has been named as the 8th chancellor of the University of California, San Diego.
Khosla, an alumnus of IIT-Kharagpur’s electrical engineering department, will replace Marye Anne Fox in August 2012.
"UC San Diego has a bright future ahead, especially with Pradeep Khosla at the helm as the eighth chancellor of this extraordinary campus. He is a skilled leader, educator, researcher, and a champion of diversity. I am confident that he will further strengthen UC San Diego’s status as a leading higher education and research university, and continue to enhance the campus’ outreach and diversity initiatives," Marye Anne Fox said.
