Bangalore, April 16, 2024: Sandalwood actor, director, and producer Dwarakish who was suffering from prolonged age-related illness is no more. Dwarakish who was 81-year-old breathed his last today.
It is reported that the actor died of a heart attack. Sandalwood celebrities have expressed their grief on social media over the death of Dwarakish. His mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at his residence in electronic city and he is likely to be laid to rest tomorrow.
The actor who entered the film industry in the 1960’s period had directed blockbuster hit Kannada films like Mayor Mutthana and Apthamithra which broke many box office records. He spent his initial days in Mysuru as a businessman, but the passion drew him into cinema. He is also related to the famous film director Hunsur Krishnamurthy. He has even shared screen space with legendary actors like Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan.
Dwarakrish is also the first person from Sandalwood to shoot the Kannada movie Singapooradali Rajakulla outside India which was released in 1978.
He has also received honorary doctorate and was honored by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce for his contribution towards Kannada film industry when he turned 80.
