Video of school students drinking alcohol in Tamil Nadu bus goes viral, probe underway

Chengalpattu, Mar 24, 2022: A video of school students consuming alcohol on a moving bus in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu district has gone viral.

The clip uploaded on social media is believed to have been recorded by one of the students. It shows a group of girls and boys opening and consuming a bottle of beer. All of the students are believed to be from a government school in Chengalpattu.

 

Initially it was thought to be an old video, it was later found that the incident took place on Tuesday.

The students, in their school uniforms, were on the bus from Thirukazhukundram to Thachur. The district education official has said that the officials have taken note of the incident and police are conducting an enquiry.

Once the investigation is completed, appropriate action will be taken.
