New Delhi, June 08, 2022: India registered 5,233 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 40.9% higher than yesterday. It brought the total caseload to 4,31,90,282. As many as seven deaths were reported in the country in the same duration, increasing the total reported death count to 5,24,715.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, the top five states which registered maximum cases are Maharashtra with 1,881 cases, followed by Kerala with 1,494 cases, Delhi with 450 cases, Karnataka with 348 cases and Haryana with 227 cases.
In total, 84.08% of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Maharashtra alone responsible for 35.94% of the new cases.
A total of 3,345 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 4,26,36,710 across the country. India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.72%.
The active caseload stood at 28,857 on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 1,881.
India administered a total of 14,94,086 doses in the last 24 hours, which brought the total tally of doses administered to 1,94,43,26,416. A total of 3,13,361 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
