Bengaluru, August 13, 2023: Taking an unexpected turn of events, a 26-year-old homemaker residing in Mahalakshmi Layout, northern Bengaluru, has departed from her residence along with her two children aged seven and one.
This decision was sparked by her deep involvement in online Ludo, which resulted in an astonishing financial loss of Rs 4.6 lakh. In response to a missing person’s report filed by her husband, the police have initiated a search operation to locate the missing trio. The husband’s account paints a troubling picture of his wife’s transformation over the past year.
Their marital journey of seven years took an unforeseen twist when she began immersing herself in online Ludo. This leisure activity rapidly evolved into a compulsive addiction, leading her onto a path of severe financial distress. The extent of her fixation became evident when her husband discovered that she had pawned her gold jewelry to raise Rs 50,000. However, this revelation only scratched the surface of the problem.
Upon confrontation, the wife admitted to borrowing Rs 1.7 lakh from relatives in order to fuel her online Ludo gaming sessions. Further investigation unveiled the startling truth that she had squandered a staggering Rs 3.4 lakh in her pursuit of virtual triumphs. Faced with mounting debts and her compulsive behavior, the husband implored her to abandon her perilous gaming habits. Nevertheless, the allure of the digital dice proved too formidable to resist.
In mid-August, she resorted to pawning her gold ornaments once again, this time obtaining Rs 1.2 lakh. Concerned about the future of his family, the husband sought the assistance of her parents. Regrettably, their efforts proved futile as the homemaker, consumed by remorse and likely driven by desperation, chose to flee her home. She left behind a note expressing, "I have committed a grave mistake and incurred significant losses."
