At the end of the fourth game, both the players have two points each in the 12-game match.

Following his thrilling 34-move win in Game 3, the Indian chess maestro forced a draw on his Norwegian counterpart after a long battle of almost five hours.

Anand was also able to neutralise Carlsen’s first mover’s advantage in what appeared to be a new line of play from the Indian challenger to the world title.

Earlier, the five-time World champion from India was outplayed by Carlsen who notched up the lead in the 12-game series with a 35-move win in Game 2.

The opening game of the World Championship had also resulted in a draw.
