Mysuru, October 3, 2024: Amid the tunes of Mangala Vaadya, writer and recipient of Nadoja award Hampa Nagarajaiah inaugurated the ten-day cultural extravaganza-Mysuru Dasara.
He lit the lamp before the idol of Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari adorned in a red saree, housed in a silver mantapa, on a stage, next to the Sri Chamundeshwari Devi temple atop Chamundi hill in the cultural capital of Karnataka during the auspicious Vrishchika lagna, at 9:32 am in a grand event on Thursday morning.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Mysuru district in-charge minister H C Mahadevappa, Tourism Minister H K Patil, Minister for Kannada and culture Shivaraj Tangadagi and others joined him and offered floral benediction to the Goddess.
Prior to this, they offered puja to Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari adorned with Brahmi Alankara in yellow colour saree at the temple. With this the ten day festivities packed with diverse events began.
