Yeddy and sons face fresh land scam allegations

Mangalore Today

Bangalore, Oct 1, 2010: In a fresh charge against the BJP Government on land denotification issue, JDS today accused it of illegally denotifying 6.35 acres acquired for a residential layout formation.

JDS state unit President H D Kumaraswamy alleged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had ordered the denotification of 6.35 acres in Rachenahally village limits, which had already been converted into house site by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for alotment in Arkavathy layout.

Kumaraswamy, who had led the JDS-BJP coalition government between 2006-07, claimed fraudulent method had been used to get the denotification order as it came on an application in the name of "farmers" sent to the Chief Minister’s office.

He claimed the signature of the Chief Minister was suspect and needed to be probed whether somebody forged it.

Kumaraswamy said his party would file an affidavit before the Lokayukta on October 4 seeking a probe into the issue and also petition Governor H R Bhardwaj seeking action.
The JDS leader had on Wednesday accused Yeddyurappa of ordering denotification of 1.2 acres of land acquired by BDA in favour of his two sons -- B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijendra in Rachenahally area and demanded the resignation of the Yeddyurappa Ministry.

He alleged that so far the government was involved in denotifying 500 acres of land and the scam ran into about Rs 5,000 crore transaction.

Kumaraswamy also produced documents in support of his claim that Raghavendra, MP, owned a site in Bangalore in 2004 itself and furnished a false affidavit recently to get allotment of a residential plot from BDA under Chief Minister’s discretionary quota.
