Youth loses both palms in crude bomb explosion in Kerala’s Kannur

Kannur, April 12, 2023: A 20-year-old man’s palms had to be severed after a crude bomb exploded in the backyard of his house under the jurisdiction of the Thalassery police station in Kerala’s Kannur district on Tuesday night.

Police said Vishnu, a 20-year-old resident of Thalassery, was alone in the backyard when the explosion took place. He was rushed to hospital with injuries.

Police registered a case and started investigating the investigation.

According to the FIR, he stored explosives near his house in a dangerous way with the intention of causing a threat to human life and property.

Police said he was injured after the explosives he stored exploded.

Police booked him under the provisions of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.
