Mysore, May 9, 2013: A youth, who lost a bet on the final result of his leader in the assembly election, shaved half of his head and moustache in Mysore on Wednesday.
Harishkumar Gowda, a daily worker at Santhepete, had a bet of Rs 2,000 with his friend Siddaraju, in favour of Chamaraja segment JD(S) candidate H S Shankaralinge Gowda.
Harishkumar told TOI that as he lost the bet and he had no money to pay his friend Siddanna, a plumber, he agreed to tonsure half of his head and moustache for non-payment of the bet amount.
This is not the first time Harishkumar is involved in betting. He claimed that this is the tenth bet he lost.
Shankaralinge Gowda, a four-time MLA, lost to Congress candidate Vasu by over 12,000 votes.
