Mangaluru, August 26, 2018: AICC Secretary Saleem Ahmed has said that the Congress party under the able guidance of its President Rahul Gandhi is busy gearing up for the next Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Bhavan on August 26, Sunday he said the party President has accorded top priority towards strengthening the party from the grassroots level.
He said the Congress would win all the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka and also struck a note of optimism when he said that Rahul Gandhi would be the next Prime Minister of the country.
Commenting on the present NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the PM was a good orator who has achieved nothing as far as development is concerned. Modi has forgotten all promises he had made to voters, Saleem alleged.
Defending the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the state, he said the Congress had to join hands with the JD(S) to keep the BJP away from power. The coalition government would provide good administration for the next five years, he added.
DCC Chief and MLC Harish Kumar, KPCC General Secretary G A Bava, KPCC Secretary Naveen D’Souza, former district president of NSUI Tejaswi Raj and others were present at the press meet.
