Mangaluru, November 26, 2024: As we know, the International Society of Krishna Consciousness has been guiding the residents of Mangalore towards the path of morality and culture for more than 20yrs. Recently, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India has lauded ISKCON Youth wing for their youth outreach initiatives and signed an MoU to do more programs on the theme of De-addiction and substance abuse (https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1979220 ) Lately, Mangalore has emerged as one of the key area amounting to around 30% of all drug abuse cases in Karnataka. We also noticed the voice of Mangaloreans being raised by honorable Member of Parliament Sriman Captain Brajesh Chowta regarding increased substance abuse in South Canara region.
