Mangalore Dec 24, 2012 : Swami Vivekananda had tremendous faith in human potential and had urged youngsters to discover it within themselves, said Swami Atmapriyananda Maharaj, Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission University, Howrah.
He was delivering the valedictory address of the All Karnataka State Youth Convention organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore as part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.
Continuing, he said Swami Vivekananda also wanted youth to conquer their senses rather than be slaves to it. He also pointed out how Swami Vivekananda wanted people to follow his teachings rather than worshipping him.
He likened the human mind and body to a computer and said it obeys the command provided it did not have virus. But sadly, our minds are filled with viruses, he said.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Yogish Bhat, MLA, Swami Vishwamanandaji Maharaj and Swami Jitakamanandaji of Ramakrishna Mission, were present as chief guests.
