Mangalore, March 27: Under the Arogya Kavacha scheme of the state government, Seven new ‘108’ sophisticated ambulance were unveiled on March 27 by Krishna J Palemar, district-in-charge minister at the premises of District collector’s office.
All the sections of the society will get benefit from the full equipped vehicle said Palemar after launching the ambulance.
The new health care vehicle will provide high tech medical aid facility at the time of emergency like ill health, fire and accident.
Now the number of sophisticated ambulance facility increased to 19 in the Dakshina Kannada district. Each ambulance will reach at the spot on dialing 108. The specialists in the ambulance will provide required treatment at initial stage.
Speaking on the occasion, V Ponnuraj, district collector of Dakshina Kannada district said that two ambulances will operate in Mangalore and two in Belthnagady and rest will work in Puttur, Sullia and Moodbidri.
According to a government release, a total of 4.12 lakh patients, including 1.2 lakh pregnancy cases, have obtained treatment from the ambulance since November 1, 2008 across the state.
