110 stalls to showcase arts at Kala Parba in Kadri Park on January 11 and 12

Mangaluru, January 10, 2025: The Sharadi Prathistana Trust will hold a two-day art festival ‘Kala Parba’ at Kadri Park from January 11.

Artist Dinesh Holla told reporters in Mangaluru on Thursday that there would be 110 stalls from artists of Dakshina Kannada and other parts, including those from neighbouring Kerala, where drawings and other artefacts would be displayed.

These artworks would be up for sale. Sculptors from Karkala in Udupi district would display their skills and their artforms on January 12, he said. Artist Veena Aithal would display artforms created from rangoli.

Mr. Holla said there would be a drawing competition for children from class II to class X where they would be made to draw on nature, tradition, and culture of Tulundu. On January 12, there would be mehendi and make-up competitions, he said.

Senior artist Ganesh Somayaji said the programme would begin at 8.30 a.m. on January 11 with an hour-long yoga session by yoga trainer Jagadish Shetty. This would be followed by a sitar recital by Ankush Nayak at 11.30 a.m. There would be ‘Siddi Dayami’ dance programme by Pannika Siddhi and team at 4 p.m. This would be followed by dance programmes by Nrutyangana, Bharatanjali, and Sanatana Natyalaya teams on January 11, he said.
