17-year-old girl dies 5-days after consuming pesticide

Ullal, Feb 19, 2023: A 17-year-old girl, who consumed pesticide five days ago at Kumpala Ashraya Colony in Ullal, was declared dead by doctors on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
The deceased has been identified as Dhanya, the elder daughter of Somnath and Bhavya, natives of Tamil Nadu and residing in Kumpala Ashraya Colony.
Dhanya was studying second PU in Ramakrishna College of the city. On February 14, when Bhavya returned home from work she found that Dhanya was not around. She returned home at around 3 pm and when questioned she said that she had gone to her friend’s house for study reasons. Her mother scolded her for going without informing her.
Later when Bhavya went to a nearby house for work, Dhanya consumed pesticide. She was admitted to the hospital where she died without responding to treatment.
