Mangalore, Jan 26, 2012: J. Krishna Palemar, District in-charge Minister presented the Republic Day Awards for the year 2012 to ten outstanding personalities in the field of sports and agriculture today in Mangalore.

The award ceremony was held at the Republic Day Parade venue in the presence N. Yogesh Bhat, Deputy Speaker, Karnataka Legislative assembly, Mayor, Local MP, MLAs, MLCs, Deputy Commissioner, IGP- western range among eminent personalities.

Rajyostav Awards

National and International level power lifting achiever Supreetha was honoured with shawl, garland, fruit bowl and memento on the occasion.

The dignitaries honoured the ‘Krishi Panditha’ recipients of the Agricultural Award on behalf of Agricultural Department like John Vegas of Cheloor, P Shankar Bhat of Vittal, Anand Shetty of Bantwal, Shankar Prabhu of Belthangady, Kamala Rai of Sullia, Elias D’Souza of Panjimogaru, Mangalore, D Abubakkar of Belma, Mangalore, Ramesh N Rao, Talipady Post, Mangalore and Smt Sundari Shetty of Shimanthoor post, Mangalore.

Palemar took an opportunity to drive one of the Vintage car’s and bike’ in the Vintage Car Rally organised by Mangalore Motor Club Association led by Sudhir BK.
