4 arrested for spreading fake news on WhatsApp

Mangaluru, Jun 02, 2021: Police have arrested four persons on the charges of spreading false information that Hindu outfit leader Sharan Pumpwell had sexually abused a woman working for Durga Vahini women’s organisation.
The accused had also posted several messages like "Protect girls of your house from the demons of Hindu community"(Hindu samudayada rakkasarinda nimma maneya hudugiyarannu rakshisi) on WhatsApp which had gone viral.
Those arrested are Bhavani Shanker (32), Naushad (27), Ravi (38) and Jaya Kumar (33).
