Mangalore December 13: Sr. Milicent Pinto UFS, popular as “Sister Mai,” has released her first audio album of charismatic hymns. This 82-year-old Nun belongs to the order of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters. These hymns were composed after spending several hours in prayer in the adoration chapel of Divine Call Centre, Mulki, where she served in the prayer ministry for 5 years.
Fr. Andrew Leo, the parish priest of St Joseph Church, Jeppu, Mangalore, released the album titled “Muje Tai Jiye” after celebrating mass on Dec 12, Sunday. In his speech, he congratulated Sr Milicent Pinto, for her efforts in bringing out an album of devotional songs at her age.
The CD comprises 10 devotional hymns composed by Sr. Milicent. The singers are all from Mangalore. Fr. Walter Albuquerqe and Simon Pais Bajal did the harmonization. Roshan, Ashith, and Richard are the music directors. The album was recorded at Sandesh Digital Studio by Ashith Pinto.
Sr. Milicent Pinto has been a teacher and headmistress for more than 34 years. She has been known to be ever ready to extend a helping hand toward the poor. In her speech, she expressed her gratitude to God and to everybody present who had supported her.
