Puttur, Feb 19, 2014 : In an interesting incident, a Yakshagana Bhagavatha who also works as an assistant priest at times has lost two bags containing his belongings pertaining to his profession in two separate incidents.
The Bhagavatha named Anekal Ganapathi Bhat who hails from Bajattur village, always carried a bag of belongings with him. But it was his practice to leave the bag at a shop located in close proximity to the Uppinangady post office before going for any work. He used to collect the bag on his return
However, things were not as to be on February 17, Monday. Bhat who as usual had kept his bags amid the gunny bags of goods in the shop, had returned later on only to find his bag missing. According to him it had a cash of Rs 5000, an electronic harmonium, clothes, diary and spectacles. On checking the CCTV footage of a nearby shop, he found that the bag was taken away by a young man.
Bhat who later came with another bag, kept it in the same shop and went in search of the thief. But he failed in his mission and returned to the shop. To his utter dismay even this bag was missing and this time on checking the CCTV footage, a woman had escaped with the bag.
A totally dejected Bhagavatha is now hoping the thieves would at least return some of the things in the bag which would not benefit them in any way.
