Mangalore, Feb 1, 2014: Lord Veera Venkatesha, the presiding deity of the Sri Venkatramana Temple at Carstreet in Mangalore now has a state-of-the art wooden chariot. Built at a cost of Rs 18 lakhs, the chariot is equipped with a steering wheel that enables easy movement and turning of the chariot. The chariot works began in July 2013.
The chariot was dedicated to the Lord by Sri Samyameendra Theertha Swamiji, the junior pontiff of Sri Kashi Mutt Samsthan on February 1, Saturday.
