Mangaluru, Feb 10, 2023: ADGP (Law and Order) Alok Kumar has said that suitable action will be taken if proper evidence is provided against any allegation against police officers.
He was speaking to reporters after holding a public grievance meeting at the SP office hall on February 9, Thursday.
When media persons drew the attention of the ADGP towards the allegations of corruption against cops in the recent case of drugs peddling and consumption involving medicos, the ADGP said nothing could be done if the allegations are without any basis. If there are evidences to prove the allegations, then suitable action would be taken, he said.
He said it has been instructed to hold peace committee meetings in the jurisdiction of police stations located in sensitive areas including Suratkal, Bunder, Ullal, Bantwal, Puttur and Belthangady.
He said he has arrived in Mangaluru to oversee the security arrangements in the backdrop of the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
