Mangaluru, July 16, 2024: Mangaluru International Airport is gearing up for a mid-summer schedule boost in its international flights, enhancing connectivity with the Middle East for the local population.

Air India Express initiated a weekly flight to Jeddah at the start of the summer schedule on April 3. Starting July 22, the airline will increase its Abu Dhabi flights to a daily frequency from the current four times a week.

The new daily service to Abu Dhabi will begin on July 22 with flight IX 819, departing Mangaluru at 8:15 pm. The corresponding return flight, IX 820, will arrive at 5:20 am.

This new flight from Mangaluru will operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Air India Express also flies to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Damman, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Muscat.

IndiGo is set to increase competition by launching a daily flight to Abu Dhabi starting August 9, 2024. Previously, IndiGo only operated to Dubai as its sole international destination, with four weekly flights from Mangaluru.

Flight 6E 1443 will arrive from Abu Dhabi at 4:00 pm and return to Abu Dhabi as flight 6E 1442 at 9:40 pm. This will increase the weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from the current 4 to 14.

In the domestic sector, Air India Express will introduce a flight to Bengaluru starting July 22. Flight IX 1789 will arrive in Mangaluru at 6:45 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and depart as flight IX 1780 at 7:05 am on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

From July 16, Air India Express has also introduced a new daily flight to Mumbai. Flight IX 1295 will depart Mumbai at 12:30 pm and arrive in Mangaluru at 2:05 pm. The return flight, IX 1296, will depart Mangaluru at 2:45 pm and reach Mumbai at 4:25 pm. Air India previously operated this route as flights AI 689/AI 690 until July 15.
