Mangaluru, Feb 10, 2018: Karkala’s BJP MLA Sunil Kumar has been granted conditional anticipatory bail by the Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court in connection with the case wherein he has been accused of making a provocative and communally instigative speech.
A Congress worker named Prashanth Kulal had filed a complaint with the Bantwal Police in this regard. It may be mentioned here that Sunil Kumar while participating in a function at Kalladka in Bantwal on January 23 in connection with a BJP Padayatra had said "The election in Bantwal is between Allah and Ram and not between Rajesh Naik and Ramanath Rai. People of Bantwal have to decide if they will make Allah win again or ensure victory of a person who loves Ram."
While granting anticipatory bail, the court has put forth a condition that the MLA should not make any further provocative statement.
