Ambulance driver dies in road mishap near Kumta

Bhatkal, May 31, 2016: A head-on collision between a Mahindra tempo and an ambulance at Handigaon near Kumta on May 30, Monday evening has claimed the life of the ambulance driver while seriously injuring three others.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Mahadev Hulswar (42). The mishap occurred when a critically ill person from Gokarna was being taken to a hospital in Manipal. Soon after the accident, the patient was shifted to another ambulance and rushed to the hospital.

The tempo which collided with the ambulance was heading towards Kumta from Honnavar when the mishap took place.
