Belthangady, Dec 17, 2022: An ancient Shiva Linga has been traced at Perla near Ujire.  In view of the plans to  renovate the ancient Sri Laxmi Janardhana Temple of the village,  an Ashta Mangala Prashne was done  recently under the leadership of Nelyady Sridhar Gore. On this occasion, the priest had mentioned about the presence of Lord Shiva nearby. When the land identified by him was dug up, an ancient Shiva Linga was found.

The  two to three feet tall Shiva Linga has a Paani Peetha. It is believed that this Shiva Linga is around 400 to 500 years old.
