Mangaluru, Jan 27, 2023: The Fruits and Flower Show organised at Kadri Park by the Zilla Panchayat, District Administration, Department of Horticulture, Kadri Park Development Committee and Siri Horticultural Association was inaugurated on January 26, Thursday by DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Kannada, Culture and Energy V Sunil Kumar.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Jayananda Anchan, MUDA Chairman Ravishanker Mijar, Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M R, City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar, ZP CEO Dr Kumar, Additional DC Krishnamurthi, Horticulture Department Deputy Director H R Nayak and others were present.
A flower pot made of lemon and roses, a giraffe, butterfly made of flowers are the special attraction.
Yellow and saffron sunflowers numbering nearly 10,000 grown by the Horticulture Department are also the special attraction.
There are stalls selling saplings and seeds of various plants. Vegetables, fruits and flower stalls, stalls selling manure, value added products, horticultural products are attracting large crowds.
The show will be held upto January 29.
The entry fee is Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children. Entry is free for school children, senior citizens and differently abled people.
