Aradhana Shenoy Secures Perfect Score in B.Com, Bags 3 Gold Medals at MU Convocation

Mangaluru, March 30, 2025: Aradhana Shenoy, a student of Mangalore Academy of Professional Studies (MAPS) College, Mangaluru, made history by securing a perfect score of 650 out of 650 in the final year B.Com examinations for the academic year 2023-24. She was honored with three gold medals at the 43rd convocation of Mangalore University, held at Mangalagangotri on Saturday.

Aradhana, who emerged as the university topper, is the daughter of Vinita V. Shenoy, a homemaker, and Vishwanath Shenoy, a businessman, from Panemangalore. She managed to balance her B.Com studies while simultaneously preparing for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course.

Speaking to the media after receiving her degree, Aradhana credited her success to her dual academic pursuits. “As I simultaneously studied for the CA course, it helped in scoring better in the B.Com examinations,” she said.

Detailing her rigorous schedule, Aradhana shared that she would leave home at 6:30 a.m. and reach MAPS College by 8:30 a.m. She attended CA classes until 3:30 p.m., followed by B.Com classes from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., finally returning home by 9 p.m.

She is now preparing to appear for the CA Intermediate Unit 2 B examination in May.

For her outstanding academic achievements, Aradhana was awarded the Srimati Rukmini Shetty Memorial Sudhakar Shetty gold medal, the Dr. H.V. Shankaranarayana gold medal, and a gold medal instituted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Meanwhile, in the postgraduate category, Veekshitha secured the first rank in Master of Arts in Kannada for the 2023-24 academic year. She is the daughter of Sujatha, a sweeper at University College in Mangaluru. Veekshitha, who pursued her postgraduation at Mangalagangotri’s Department of Kannada, was also honored with a gold medal at the convocation. She had previously completed her graduation at University College.


Anitha Shenoy, who secured the first rank in the Konkani MA program, is currently teaching kindergarten students at Sharada School in Mangaluru. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “I put in a lot of effort to complete my MA in Konkani. Pursuing higher education in my mother tongue was a dream, and I am glad to have achieved it. My family and school authorities have been incredibly supportive throughout.”

Similarly, Jyothi Priya, the first-rank holder in the Tulu MA program, is now a lecturer at Government First Grade College, Car Street. She emphasized the significance of her postgraduate studies, stating, “Earning a PG in Tulu has deepened my understanding of Tulu culture, traditions, and practices. This knowledge, in turn, enhances my ability to teach the subject more effectively.”


The convocation ceremony recognized the academic excellence of students across various disciplines, celebrating their dedication and perseverance in achieving remarkable milestones.
