Arrested Aysha Banu and Zubair produced before Court

Mangalore, Nov  13, 2013: Arrested Aysha Banu and her husband Zubair were produced before the Third Junior Magistrate court on Nov 13, Wednesday.

The couple were brought to the court with tight security by the Panambur police.

 

 

 

Reportedly, couple were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on  November 11, based on the charges of providing money to terror suspects who had carried out the serial blasts at Patna recently  . 

The court ordered 15 days prisoner’s transfer warrant to Aysha and Zubair as pleaded by the Bihar police.

Later the Bihar police took the couple to Lakhisarai, Bihar for further interrogation.

It may be recalled that the National Investigation sleuths had arrested Aysha Banu from her residence at Panjimogaru in Mangalore on November 11 on the charges of providing money to the ultras who carried out the recent serial  blasts in Patna.


The Bihar Police, with help of their Karnataka counterparts, on Tuesday apprehended one woman in Mangalore on the charge of providing financial assistance to Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives through hawala transactions.

Preliminary probe revealed that Ayesha was managing 50 accounts in Bihar through net-banking and real-time gross settlement. She was charged with providing financial support to fugitive IM operative Tehsin Akhtar, prime accused in the October 27 Patna serial blasts.
