Udupi, Feb 9, 2025: Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance creativity by saving time and increasing knowledge and awareness, said senior linguist and Nadoja Prof. K.P. Rao. Speaking at the inauguration of the Prajnanam Trust at the Yakshagana Kalaranga’s IYF Hall on Saturday, he reassured that there is no need for concern about AI’s implications.
The event was inaugurated by author Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, who acknowledged that AI poses significant challenges to artists and art institutions. “Artists must accept these challenges and evolve to thrive in the new era,” he stated.
Writer Sudha Adukala highlighted that acting fosters closer connections to languages. She also expressed concerns about the declining participation of girls in higher education, despite their strong performance in secondary education. “Many women who actively engage in arts and culture during their student years tend to drift away after marriage, which is an issue that needs attention,” she added.
The ceremony included the unveiling of the trust’s logo. Bharat Scouts and Guides District President Jayakar Shetty Indrali and Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department Poornima addressed the gathering. Theatre director Ganesh Rao Ellur was felicitated during the program.
G.P. Prabhakar Tumari welcomed the attendees and introduced the event, while Usha Perdoor anchored the proceedings. The highlight of the event was a solo theatrical performance by Vidushi Samskruti Prabhakar, titled ’Hejjegolida Belaku’ , which captivated the audience.
