Mangaluru, May 10, 2023: Voting for the Karnataka Assembly elections commenced across eight assembly constituencies in the district on May 10, Wednesday at 7 am.
Voters were seen sanding in queues outside polling booths to cast their votes. Over 4500 security personnel have been deployed across the district to ensure smooth polling.
There are a total of 8,70,991 male voters, 9,10,314 female voters, 84 transgender voters in Dakshina Kannada district. The number of total voters is 17,81,389. A total of 1,860 polling booths have been opened in the district of which 1,184 are in urban areas and 676 in rural areas.
Voting will be held upto 6 pm.
