Autorickshaw drivers stage huge protest against DC’s order on e-autos

Mangaluru, August 29, 2024: Thousands of autorickshaw drivers took out a protest march from Ambedkar Circle to Clock Tower on Thursday to oppose the decision of the district administration permitting e-autos to operate across the district. The protest is held under the aegis of the DK Autorickshaw Owners-Drivers Association and like-minded auto drivers owners association.
The protesting drivers are demanding that the Deputy Commissioner meet them and receive their memorandum.
The drivers had planned to march upto the DC office, but were prevented by the police near the clock tower by placing barricades.
The protestors demanded that the district administration immediately withdraw its order relating to e-autos.
