Mangalore, Jan 12,2013: The BJP has accused the Congress of playing divisive politics by boycotting the programme organised by the district administration at Ramakrishna Mutt premises on January 11, Friday in connection with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The party organised a protest in front of the DC office on Friday and charged the Congress of resorting to vote bank politics over Vivekananda.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC said the boycott of the programme on Swami Vivekananda who spoke about unified India, was condemnable and lashed out at the Congress for trying to give an excuse that it was only protesting against the participation of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat in the function.
Franklyn Monteiro, President, BJP Minority Wing also spoke. BJP leaders Padmanabha Kottari and Shrikar Prabhu and others were present.
