Mangaluru, Sep 14, 2022: The BJP has not offended Brahmashree Narayana Guru at any time, clarified party leader Harikrishna Bantwal while referring to a recent allegation by senior Congress leader B Ramanatha Rai.
Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on September 14, Wednesday, Harikrishna Bantwal alleged that Rai who intends to contest from Bantwal in the next elections was deliberately making allegations that the BJP was offending Narayana Guru.
He said Minister for Kannada and Culture V Sunil Kumar has already clarified as to why the Narayana Guru Jayanthi state level event was held in Mangaluru. In the days to come celebrations will be held in Udupi, Shivamogga and other places, he added.
MP and State BJP Chief Nalin Kumar Kateel and other leaders had offered special prayers to Shree Narayana Guru at Kudroli shrine, a day ahead of Narayana Guru Jayanthi. On Guru Jayanthi. Minister Sunil Kumar, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Bharath Shetty offered special prayers at the Kudroli shrine following which the procession commenced, he said.
Harikrishna Bantwal alleged that Ramanatha Rai and former MLA J R Lobo had opposed when the BJP administration decided to rename the Ladyhill circle after Narayana Guru.
