Mangalore, April 29, 2014 : Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, veteran social thinker and academician has said that the BJP was planning to remove the reservation system if it comes to power.
Delivering a lecture on ‘Ambedkar and 2014 General Elections in India’ organised by Centre for Dr B R Ambedkar Studies at Mangalore University on April 28, Monday, Prof. Kancha Iliah said that the BJP did not believe in the concept of reservation.
Strongly criticising communal and fascist elements, Prof. Kancha Ilaiah also wanted to know if the Sangh Parivar will allow Modi, if at all he becomes a PM, to appoint a priest of a lower class in temples. He was also critical of the Sangh Parivar’s stand against consumption of beef.He strongly felt non-veg food must be preferred over veg food for growth of brains.
Showering praises on Dr BR Ambedkar, Prof. Ilaiah said India would not have sustained a democratic system without the great leader.
Prof. H Nagalingappa, acting Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University presided over the function. Prof. PS Yadapadittaya and others were present.
