Mangaluru, Oct 1, 2023: The Bajpe police arrested two house break-in thieves and recovered gold worth Rs.4.5 lakh from them.
The accused identified as Tausif Ahmed (34), hailing from Bokkapatna, and Mohammed Faraz (27), a resident of Kasba Bengre. This successful operation was conducted by a team led by PSI Gurappa Kanti from Bajpe Police Station, who apprehended the duo near Kuduremukh Junction, KIOCL Bus Stand, Panambur, on September 29.
The accused individuals had carried out burglaries at the residence of Sadashiva Poojary in Addoor on January 13 of the current year, as well as at Sadashiva Savanth’s house in Badagulipadi on March 26, 2021, making off with various valuables.
During the operation, the police managed to recover jewellery valued at Rs 4.5 lakh, weighing approximately 75 grams, which had been stolen from the two targeted houses. Additionally, they have taken into custody a motorcycle valued at Rs 50,000, believed to have been used by the suspects during the commission of these thefts.
Both Tausif Ahmed and Mohammed Faraz face multiple charges in various police stations, including Mangaluru City, Panambur Police Station, Mangaluru North Police Station, Mangaluru South Police Station, Bantwal Town Police Station, and Udupi City Police Stations.
