Bantwal, July 07, 2022: District in-charge Minister Sunil Kumar accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, local MLA Rajesh Naik, Bantwal Tahsildar Smitha Ramu visited  Panjikallu in Bantwal taluk where a landslide claimed the lives of three labourers after their shed was caught under huge mounds of soil on Wednesday night.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said despite  maximum efforts to save those trapped under the soil, only one person has survived. He said after a complete report of the incident, efforts would be made to provide compensation to the next of kin of the three deceased labourers.

The Minister said an emergency meeting has been convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s office this evening to discuss various issues related to natural calamity and the precautionary measures that need to be taken.
