Mangaluru, April 20, 2025: Bantwal Rural Police have successfully solved a theft case involving a cloth shop in Farangipete, Pudu village, under their jurisdiction.
The incident occurred on the night of April 11, when unidentified miscreants broke the lock of the shop’s shutter, entered the premises, and stole cash from the counter. Following a complaint, a case was registered at the Bantwal Rural Police Station under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the BNS.
During the investigation, the police arrested a 26-year-old suspect, Nazeer Mohammad, a resident of Kannur-Adyar village in Mangaluru taluk. Officers recovered ₹1,09,490 in cash, identified as part of the stolen amount, and seized the motorcycle used in the crime.
Further investigations revealed that Nazeer was previously involved in a 2024 theft case, where he broke the glass of a TVS showroom in Kannur, Mangaluru, and stole money. That case was registered under the jurisdiction of the Kankanady Town Police Station.
The operation to apprehend the accused was led by Police Inspector Shivakumar B, along with a team of officers and staff from the Bantwal Rural Police Station.
